X3 Reunion Mods

Hey guys, I can't seem to figure out how to put the mods in my X3 folder so that they even show up as an option when I start the game. I have tried using installer. X³: Reunion Bonus Material. X3: Reunion - High Quality. This is the 'Callback Mod' by Imp.- which adds visible cockpit interiors to ships.

Unfortunately XTM has had issues with steam installs for some people and not for others, so there is not a definitive answer to that question. Both the mod and the game were not originally designed to work with steam as it wasn't about when the mod began way back when, or when the game was released.

We tried to figure out what the problem was by getting people to list their hardware, install locations, etc to see if there was a common denominator, but it seemed to happen randomly and we couldn't trace the cause. In theory it should work, but in practice it is just a case of trying it out on your system to find out whether it will.

I have tried using installer packages, putting them in the way I read to, and nothing works. I try to comprehend the egosoft forums, and for the most part can't understand anything that anyone is talking about.

Normally I can use google to find the right path but everytime I use google to search for information on how to install mods, I get links talking about creating mods, and 4 year old information with download links that no longer exist. Is there anyone here, who remembers being really bad at installing mods for X3, that managed to get their stuff working? Because I cannot for the life of me figure any of this out. Using Windows 7 64 Steam and apparently a sub-par brain when it comes to computers the installer I got tells me that because I have my game in the x86 steam area, nothing will work right.

Run it in administrator or move the location of the files. I ran it as admin, same thing. Pretty sure I can't move my steam game outside of my steam folders can I? All I was after was the cockpit mods T.,T but then I saw the XRM which seemed interesting. Help a dummy out?
