In a Parthevian port, a young boy is about to make a name for himself. Sinbad is good-natured, strong, and craving adventure. A kind deed leads to his meeting with Yunan, an enigmatic traveler who is far more powerful than his frivolous personality lets on. Yunan instructs Sinbad to attain the 'power of the king' and change the world—by conquering a Dungeon. The eager boy readily accepts, setting out on the grand adventure he so craved.

Taking place 15 years before the events of the original series, Magi: Sinbad no Bouken chronicles Sinbad's youth as a Dungeon conqueror. Along the way, the budding adventurer and merchant will have to face many obstacles, but anything is possible with the power of a king. [Written by MAL Rewrite]. Overall 9 Story 9 Animation 9 Sound 9 Character 9 Enjoyment 8 I'm probably just really biased but I adore this show. The five ova's were amazing but this was written better and was detailed.

Story- Amazing, watching magi, Sindria its king and the eight generals were the most interesting for me so getting to see Sinbad starting his journey is awesome. I know nothing about the manga and how far it goes in the story but I would have loved to see more characters. (Yamuraiha, Sharrkan, Masrur) Also I want to find out how Drakon became what he is now???

And how its now Spartos instead of Mystras. Animation + sound- Great as always. Pretty much the same as the magi series and the ova series. The opening and ending were good and suited the series well.

Characters- A lot of character development in such a short show. Dhtmlx Java Connector Youtube on this page. Each character meeting Sin was done really well.

Ja'far in particular going from assassin to loyal friend was cool. I'm just going to sit here and wait for a season 2 that will never come (I would watch 50 more episodes on Sinbad and his friends just going about their daily lives). 10/10 story 10/10 animation 9/10 sound 10/10 characters 10/10 overall.

Overall 7 Story 6 Animation 8 Sound 7 Character 5 Enjoyment 6 I must admit, the tale of Sinbad- King of Sindria, Conqueror of the Seven Seas, a legendary man whose mythical adventures have been woven into countless movies, books, and cloth- is a rather difficult story to tell. So far, Magi season one and two have both done exceptionally well in portraying Sinbad as a grown man in charge of a nation. Rather than sticking to just the classic mold of 'Sinbad the great sailor!'

Or 'Sinbad the witty, flirty, virtuous bad boy!' , they add depth by darkening the inner workings of his tactical mind.

However, the same effort in characterization was not applied to either of the OVAs of Sinbad's adventures. STORY (6) The first OVA begins on a dark, stormy evening with the screech of a woman in the midst of an excruciating labor which just happens to be occurring during a magical, mystical, wondrous night full of shooting stars, glowing genie lamps, and the classic array of oddities that only happen 'once every thousand of years'. If this were any other anime, this would be an irritating (and frightful) way to start off the episode but because it's Magi and it blends together legends with just the right amount of originality, I gave it some leeway.

After all, the intro music was fantastic, and if you're a Magi fan already, at this point you're cracking your knuckles cause Sin's finally in town! There's no way this can go-.wrong.And before you know it, the producers have dragged you into one of the most cliche, overdone story lines known to fairy tales. Sinbad's portrayed as the classic hero, complete with a tragic background story, the help of a supernaturally gifted stranger, and everything else that serves as the pedestal upon which this adolescent's destiny sits- awaiting his overbearing greatness.
