If Standalone is going to be built on a system where the client sends the server a message, then the server checks if its possible before doing it. Ioan Dordoi Intr-un Sat Lang-o Fantana here. Cx Designer Version Upgrade Software there. Thereby sort of eliminating any chance to cheat.

What is VAC even going to do? Will it ban people for duping or using exploits (I understand they may not even exist) or will it ban those using ESP/Maphacks/aimbot etc. If it can do that then Great! What is the point of any Anti-cheat? Of course though its not like it affects anyone nor would you notice its presence.

Just wondering, what is it there for? VAC = Client side. It will look for things like Aimbots, ESP, stuff that the server would never realize you are doing. If it picks up that you are using any of the cheats then it will ban DayZ Standalone on your Steam account, which is a hell of a lot more of a pain in the ass than my Arma 2 OA key getting banned by BattlEye and then me using a registry edit tool to plop a new key that I bought for three dollars into my game. This will deter 'casual' hackers looking to cheat - As it stands right now, cheating in DayZ is extremely low risk. Getting my game banned on my steam account and needing to constantly switch steam logins, just to run cheats is something I would only be doing if I really, really, really wanted to cheat.

2013-3-25 If anyone wants to try it, my new ARMA 3 VAC Profile 1.1 is online. I'm still working on the updates for the site but wanted to get the profile out.

(Hypothetically speaking, of course;) ) Being VAC banned also leaves a big shameful flag on your account that I believe can be seen publically, yet another soft deterrent to cheating. Moving everything to the server-side architecture means that crap like Teleporting, spawning weapons, vehicles, godmode, etc will all be detected by the server and the server can make decisions based on that information. 'This guy tried to teleport from Cherno to north of Berezino and spawn a box filled with AS50s, time to tell VAC to ban his account or at least kick him off the server' VAC isn't going to make as big of a difference as the switch to the server-side architecture (if you still aren't clear what I'm talking about, the explains everything, although in decently technical terms. While the current caliber of hacking won't be possible under a system you described, any sort of client modification such as aimbots and ESP would not be possible to detect. There would need to be a system that checks if the users client is clean first.
